The Office Filming Locations

Fans of the American version of The Office can take a self-guided tour of the real locations from the opening credits, all in downtown Scranton. The Electric City sign on the Lackawanna Avenue Commercial Historic District, the Lackawanna County Courthouse on Courthouse Square, the Steamtown Mall, and Poor Richard's Pub on Spruce Street are the main ones.

The Lackawanna County Visitor Center, just off Courthouse Square, sells an Office-themed walking map and stocks Dunder Mifflin paper, mugs, and pins. Scranton has leaned into the connection — a 10-year anniversary fan convention drew thousands in 2018 — but it remains genuinely understated. No filming actually took place here.

A story
The fictional Scranton branch of Dunder Mifflin was set in the city — though almost all filming happened on a Los Angeles soundstage. Scranton itself appears mostly in the opening credits: the Lackawanna County Courthouse, the Electric City sign on Penn Avenue, and the Steamtown Mall all featured. The 'real' Dunder Mifflin office building was meant to be at 1725 Slough Avenue, a fictional address.
