Scranton's attractions are its industrial-heritage sites — a steam railyard, an underground coal mine, an iron-furnace ruin — together with a downtown of Beaux Arts buildings that survived the city's long decline because nobody could afford to tear them down. Most are walkable from Courthouse Square; the outliers (Steamtown, the coal mine) are a short drive.
