The Woodlands Resort

A large resort complex in the southern part of The Woodlands, set among pine trees with a golf course, multiple pools, and extensive conference facilities. Non-guests can access the pools and some facilities with a day pass, making it a useful option for visiting families wanting a pool day without the full room rate.

The grounds are pleasant for a walk even without paying for pool access. The adjacent Palmer Golf Course is one of the better public-access courses in the Houston area, designed by Arnold Palmer.

A story
The resort's Lazy River water feature is one of those suburban amenities that sounds vaguely ridiculous until you're actually floating around it on a warm April afternoon. Day passes for non-guests are available, making it accessible even if you're staying elsewhere in the area.
