Getting There

Kanab has no commercial airport. The nearest airports with regular service are St. George Regional Airport (SGU) in Utah, about 90 km north-west, and Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS), about 360 km to the south-west. Most visitors drive; the town sits at the junction of US-89 and US-89A, making it accessible from multiple directions.

From Las Vegas, the drive via US-15 and US-9 through Zion takes about 2.5 hours. From Salt Lake City, allow about 4.5 hours via US-15 south and US-89. The drive through Zion Canyon on US-9 (the Zion-Mount Carmel Highway) is itself one of the great scenic drives in the West — the road passes through two tunnels and climbs from the canyon floor to the high plateau through some of the most dramatic scenery in Utah.
