Getting There

By car, Richmond sits at the junction of I-95 and I-64 and is about 90 minutes south of Washington, D.C. By air, Richmond International Airport (RIC) is 15 minutes east of the city and has direct flights to most major east-coast hubs. Most international travellers connect via Washington Dulles (IAD), 160 km north. By train, Richmond is well served by Amtrak, with several daily trains on the Northeast Corridor to Washington, Baltimore, Philadelphia and New York, plus the Carolinian and Silver services south to the Carolinas and Florida. There are two stations — the historic Main Street Station (a few services) and the larger Staples Mill Road station (most long-distance trains). Greyhound and Megabus run frequent buses up and down the east coast.
