Mendoza has good international connections by air and is well served by bus from Buenos Aires and other Argentine cities.
By air: Governor Francisco Gabrielli International Airport (MDZ) handles direct flights from Buenos Aires (about 2 hours), Santiago de Chile, and several other South American cities. Budget airlines including Aerolíneas Argentinas, LATAM, and JetSMART serve the route from Buenos Aires Aeroparque Jorge Newbery. From Europe or North America, connections typically go through Buenos Aires or Santiago.
By bus: Long-distance buses from Buenos Aires take around 13-14 hours on comfortable sleeper coaches — an overnight journey that many Argentines prefer for its cost and the convenience of arriving in the morning. The Terminal de Ómnibus is east of the city centre and well connected to local transport. Regular buses also run from Santiago de Chile (around 7 hours via the Paso Los Libertadores tunnel), making Mendoza an easy stop on a trans-Andean itinerary.
By car: The RN7 connects Mendoza to Buenos Aires (1,040km, around 12 hours of driving) and continues west through Uspallata to the Chilean border. The cross-Andes drive to Santiago is one of Argentina's most dramatic road journeys.
