Mendoza's activities sort into three places: the Río Mendoza at Potrerillos, an hour west, where the rafting and kayaking are; the high Andes beyond it, where Aconcagua and the Cordón del Plata draw climbers from all over the world; and the wine country of Maipú and Luján de Cuyo, which is flat enough to do by bicycle.
