Upper Circuit (Paseo Superior)

Walkway running along the lip of the major falls for panoramic views

Address Iguazú National Park, Misiones

The Paseo Superior is a 1.7-kilometre walkway running along the rim of the falls, looking down across the major cataracts — Salto Mbiguá, Salto Bernabé Méndez, Salto Bossetti, and the long ribbon of Salto San Martín. Because you are at the top of the drop rather than below it, the perspectives are spread out and theatrical: river water sliding silently across rounded basalt then disappearing over the edge with a roar you only hear a second later.

Most visitors do the Upper Circuit first and the Lower Circuit afterwards, which is the sensible order. There are two main viewing decks plus several side platforms, all wheelchair-accessible.
