Eating Out

Potosí's food scene is small but satisfying. The city specialises in hearty Andean cooking suited to the altitude and cold — thick soups, roasted meats, and the ubiquitous api (a warm purple corn drink) sold at street stalls. The Mercado Central on Calle Bolívar is the best place for cheap, filling local food at lunchtime.
