The Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil occupies a former 1960s bank building near the Itamaraty Palace, repurposed as one of the strongest contemporary cultural venues in the country. Free or low-priced exhibitions of international art, photography, design, and cinema run year-round — past shows have included major Picasso and Andy Warhol retrospectives that drew long queues.
There is also a small theatre, a cinema, a bookshop, and a café in the lobby. Always worth checking the listings before deciding what to do in central Brasília.
