A small cafe on the edge of the Cidade Histórica plateau, serving coffee, fruit juices, cold beer, and simple snacks — tapioca with cheese, biscoitos — from a terrace that looks out over the sea and the curve of coast to the south. It is the only place on the bluff to sit down with a drink in the late afternoon, and the view at that hour is hard to beat.
The operation is simple: plastic chairs, a fridge of cold drinks, a gas burner for coffee. No menu of note. It works best as a place to sit after walking the historic circuit — the shade and the breeze are welcome after the heat of the open plateau. Opens from mid-morning and closes at dusk.
