The benchmark moqueca restaurant in the city, on the beachfront road at Armação. The kitchen does a dozen different moquecas — shrimp, fish, lobster, crab, mixed — all in copper pans, all heavy on the palm oil and coconut, all served with the standard sides of rice, farofa, and pirão. Portions are large; one moqueca feeds two.
It is touristy and pricey by Bahian standards but the cooking is the real article. Book or arrive early on weekend evenings.
