Sawasdee

Sawasdee is one of Búzios' best-regarded restaurants, a small, carefully run place on Rua das Pedras that combines Thai and seafood influences to unusual effect. The fish is always fresh — sourced directly from local fishermen — and the kitchen handles it with more skill than most beach-town restaurants can manage.

The menu changes based on what came off the boats that day. Standouts include the grilled whole fish with lemongrass and lime, the prawn stir-fry with coconut milk, and a seafood stew that borrows from both Brazilian and Thai traditions. The dining room is intimate and the service attentive; booking ahead is advisable on summer weekends.
