Azeda and Azedinha

Azeda and Azedinha ("little sour one") are two small beaches near the northern tip of the peninsula, separated by a rocky outcrop that you can wade around at low tide. They are among the most beautiful spots in Búzios and are best reached by boat, though a steep path descends from the road above.

The water is sheltered and very clear — good for snorkelling without any equipment beyond a mask. The beaches themselves are small, which means they can fill up quickly in high season, but outside of January and February you can usually find a patch of sand without difficulty.

The combination of clear turquoise water, forested headlands dropping into the sea, and the limited development on these beaches gives Azeda a genuinely unspoiled feel. Come early in the morning or late afternoon and it can feel like a private beach. Most schooner tours include a stop here.
