Geribá Beach

Geribá faces the open South Atlantic, which means waves. It is the main surfing beach in Búzios and consistently attracts the younger crowd who have no interest in calm water. The beach stretches for about two kilometres and is wide enough that even in high season it doesn't feel packed.

The surf breaks are best at the northern end of the beach. The southern end is calmer and suitable for families who still want the wider, more open atmosphere of an Atlantic beach. Geribá is also popular for kite surfing when conditions are right.

Several beach clubs and barracas operate along the shore, some with good music and a lively atmosphere in the evening. This is where Búzios's younger resort crowd congregates.
