Schooner Tour

The traditional way to see Búzios from the water is a half-day schooner (saveiro) tour. Boats depart from the Orla Bardot dock throughout the morning and typically visit three or four beaches, stopping at each for swimming and snorkelling before returning in the afternoon.

The standard circuit covers the beaches on the eastern and northern tip of the peninsula — including Azeda, Azedinha, and João Fernandinho, small beaches that are difficult or impossible to reach by road. The water at these stops is usually among the clearest on the peninsula.

Boats are comfortable but not luxurious: bring sun protection, water, and a towel. Most tours include light drinks and a few stop for a simple lunch at a beach barraca. Duration is typically three to four hours. Tickets are sold at kiosks along the Orla Bardot. Early morning departures have better light and fewer crowds at the beach stops.
