Aguaventura is on Palguín, one street back from the lake end of town, and undercuts Politur on the volcano by five thousand pesos: CLP 150,000 for the guided ascent of Villarrica. The difference is noise. Choose on who is guiding and what the weather is doing.
What they have that others do not is the volcano in winter. They sell a Ski Day on Villarrica from CLP 79,900 and ski-touring ascents where you climb the cone and ski back down it, which is a rare thing to be able to buy over a counter. In summer they run Class III rafting on the Trancura from CLP 30,000, hydrospeed — riding the rapids on a float, face first — at CLP 45,000, and cross country bikes at CLP 25,000 a day.
The day trip to the Termas Geométricas, the beautifully built red-walkway hot springs over in Coñaripe, is CLP 75,000. It is a long drive and worth it.
