La Marmita

La Marmita is one of Pucón's most reliable restaurants, known for its seasonal Chilean cooking using ingredients from local farms and the lake. The menu changes, but look for the cazuela — a slow-cooked stew of meat and vegetables that is the definitive Chilean comfort food — and the fresh lake trout when it is available. The room is warm and unpretentious, with wooden tables and a busy open kitchen.

It is not cheap by local standards, but portions are generous and the quality is consistently high. Reservations are advisable in January and February, when the town fills up with Chilean holiday makers and waits can be long without one. Located on Avenida Fresia, a short walk from the main street.
