Playa de los Artistas

Playa de los Artistas sits south of the city centre, quieter and less frequented than Reñaca or the main beach, which is precisely its appeal. The name comes from the artists and bohemians who historically gathered here, though today it simply attracts anyone who wants to read a book or have a conversation without competing with a speaker system. The beach is narrower than Reñaca and the surroundings are less developed.

It is a short walk or bus ride from the centre of Viña. Bring your own food and drink — there are fewer services here than at the bigger beaches. The calmer atmosphere and the relative lack of crowds make it a good choice for a morning swim or an afternoon off the tourist circuit. The cold water applies here as everywhere on this coast.
