Getting Around

Cali has a bus rapid transit system, the MIO, with dedicated lanes running north–south through the city; it is cheap, reasonably safe by day and the easiest way to cover ground. Yellow taxis are everywhere and inexpensive — always ask for the meter ("con taxímetro") or fix the fare before you get in. Walking is fine in the centre and in San Antonio and Granada, but take a taxi at night, especially east of the river.
