Cali sits at around 1,000 metres in the Cauca Valley and stays warm year-round, with daytime highs typically between 27 and 32°C and refreshing breezes most afternoons. There are two rainier spells, roughly April–May and October–November, but rain rarely lasts all day and the city is a perfectly fine destination at any time of year.
The undisputed peak is the Feria de Cali, held every year from 25 to 30 December: six days of salsa concerts, parades, bullfights at the Plaza de Cañaveralejo and a city-wide street party. Hotel prices double and rooms book up months ahead. June is another lively month, with three long weekends of religious processions for Corpus Christi, Sacred Heart and Saints Peter and Paul. Salsa diehards may also want to time a visit around the Festival Mundial de Salsa in early September.
