Cali is not a city of grand monuments — its appeal lies in its rhythm, its neighbourhoods, and its surrounding hills. Still, there are a handful of things worth tracking down. Climb San Antonio for the colonial church and the city view, wander the colonial centre around La Merced and the Plaza de Caicedo, and ride the cable car or hike up to the Cristo Rey statue on the western ridge for a sweeping look at the Cauca Valley. The Tertulia modern art museum and the city zoo round out a couple of easy days.
