Most middle-class shopping happens in air-conditioned malls — Chipichape at the north end of Avenida 6N is the smartest, with Unicentro and Jardín Plaza the other big names. For something more local, the Galería Alameda is a sprawling covered market for fruit, fish and flowers, and the streets of San Antonio are good for craft and silver jewellery shops aimed at travellers.
