The oldest church in Cali, founded in the 16th century and still the spiritual centre of the colonial quarter. The whitewashed complex houses two small museums: the Museo de Arte Colonial, with religious paintings and silverware, and the Museo Arqueológico La Merced, with pre-Columbian pottery from the Quimbaya, Calima and Tierradentro cultures. Open Tuesday to Saturday, 8.30–12.30 and 13.30–17.30; closed Sunday.
