Cuenca has a genuinely good food scene — better than its size might suggest. The historic centre has long-established restaurants serving traditional Cuencano cooking, and Calle Larga along the riverbank has become a lively strip with a wide range of options. The expat community has encouraged a variety of international restaurants, and there is decent coffee throughout.
