Sinnamary sits on the coastal Route Nationale 1 between Kourou (50 km to the southeast) and Iracoubo (40 km to the northwest). There is no direct public transport from Cayenne — the minibuses that ply the coast road will drop you at the Sinnamary junction on the main road, from where you can walk or arrange a lift into town. Having a rental car, picked up in Cayenne, makes the whole coast considerably easier to navigate. The journey from Cayenne takes about two hours.
