The Fernheim Cooperative — the agricultural co-op that effectively runs everyday life in Filadelfia — has its central supermarket, hardware store, and offices on Avenida Hindenburg. The supermarket is interesting in its own right as a snapshot of how the colony works: shelves stacked with cooperative-brand dairy, sausages, jam, and bread, German labels alongside Spanish.
Drop in for a coffee, a Mennonite sausage, and a packet of the excellent cooperative cheese to take with you back to Asunción.
