Ventanillas de Combaya is a pre-Inca necropolis cut into soft rock in the hills beyond Cajamarca. It is similar to the better-known Ventanillas de Otuzco, but larger, quieter, and less developed for tourism.
Getting there usually means travelling via Otuzco and continuing by local transport toward Combaya. The lack of infrastructure is part of the appeal, but the fragile stone also means visitors should avoid touching or climbing on the tomb openings.
