Cajamarca's historic centre is compact and walkable — most of the main sights are within a few blocks of the Plaza de Armas. The Ransom Room and the Belén complex are the standout attractions in town; Cerro Santa Apolonia is an easy half-day climb. Outside the city, the Baños del Inca and Ventanillas de Otuzco are both worth the effort.
