As the name says, these are the Salkantay people: the pass under the 6,271-metre mountain, done as anything from a two-day dash to a five-day traverse ending at Machu Picchu, with the option of the transparent sky domes at the high camps.
They also run Humantay Lake as a day trip, which is the same valley and the single most photographed turquoise lake in Peru.
