Fortín Doña Magdalena

Colonial-era fort above the Puerto La Cruz coast near the Mochima gateway

Fortín Doña Magdalena is a small historic fortification on the coast near Puerto La Cruz, part of the defensive landscape that once guarded approaches along this stretch of Venezuela. Its value is as much in the view and setting as in the surviving masonry.

It is not a major fortress, but it adds a historical stop to a city better known as a gateway to Mochima National Park. Check local conditions before visiting, and combine it with other coastal sights rather than making it the whole plan.
