The Bamenda Main Market is the centre of commercial life in the anglophone Northwest; the Prescraft Handicraft Centre is the place to find higher-quality Grassfields crafts including masks, beaded calabashes, and woven textiles. The villages of the Ring Road are the original source of most of what is sold in Bamenda — a few days on the road yields a more interesting collection of handicrafts than the city does on its own.
