Kribi is around 150 kilometres south of Douala on a paved road. By private car or chartered taxi the journey takes about three hours, depending on traffic out of Douala and on the police checkpoints that punctuate the route. Shared minibuses ("agences") leave from Douala's Bonabéri station several times a day and cost a fraction of a private taxi but take longer and stop frequently.
There is no commercial airport in Kribi itself. The closest are Douala International to the north and a small strip at Bipindi inland; private charters occasionally use the latter. The deep-water port at Kribi is industrial — it has no passenger services, despite plans over the years to start a coastal ferry.
