Boa Vista's beaches are its defining feature — long, white, and largely untouched. The eastern and southern coasts in particular have stretches that could pass for undiscovered: no vendors, no sun loungers, just sand and sea. Strong Atlantic swells and trade winds make some beaches better for surfing and windsurfing than for swimming; always check conditions before entering the water.
