Rabil Airport (BVC) is the island's only airport, 4km northeast of Sal Rei. It handles direct charter and scheduled flights from several European cities, particularly during winter. TACV and other regional carriers connect Boa Vista to Santiago (Praia) and Sal with short inter-island flights. Inter-island ferries also call at Sal Rei, though journey times are long — the ferry from Praia takes around 4–5 hours.
