Our Lady of Heliopolis (La Basilique Notre-Dame de Héliopolis) is a Catholic cathedral in the heart of old Heliopolis, built in the 1920s in a Romanesque-Byzantine style that fits well with the neighbourhood's eclectic architectural character. The cathedral serves Cairo's remaining French-speaking Catholic community and is one of the largest active Catholic churches in Egypt.
The interior is notable for its scale and the quality of its stained glass — unusual in Cairo, where most Catholic churches are fairly modest. Services are held in French, Arabic, and English on Sundays. The surrounding streets around the cathedral have some of the best-preserved Heliopolis commercial arcades, making a visit here easily combined with a walk through Empain's neighbourhood.
