Shopping in Dahab is low-key and mostly concentrated along Assalah, the main street running through the old Bedouin part of town. You will find small shops selling handmade jewelry, Bedouin textiles, leather goods, and the usual Egyptian souvenirs. Haggling is expected and part of the fun -- never accept the first price.
The Assala Market is the best spot for fresh produce, spices, and everyday supplies. Ghazala Market, the largest in town, is air-conditioned and carries everything from household goods to snacks. Several local artists sell paintings from small shops along the seafront, and there is a good used bookshop between Nirvana and Buddha restaurants on the promenade with over three thousand titles in multiple languages.
