Dahab has sunshine year-round, which makes it a genuine four-season destination. Temperatures range from the mid-twenties in winter to the low forties in summer, and rain is almost unheard of. The best months for diving and general sightseeing are March through May and September through November, when the heat is comfortable and the water is warm and clear.
Summer (June to August) is scorching hot on land but excellent for windsurfing and kitesurfing -- the afternoon thermals blow reliably at 15 to 25 knots. Winter (December to February) is mild and pleasant during the day but can get surprisingly cold at night, especially if you are heading into the desert or up Mount Sinai. Ramadan changes the rhythm of town noticeably, with many local restaurants closed during daylight hours. Major Egyptian holidays like Sham al-Naseem in spring bring domestic tourists and a festive atmosphere.
