The National Palace, built as the Jubilee Palace for Emperor Haile Selassie's silver jubilee in 1955, has reopened to visitors as the Palace Museum after renovation. The museum presents parts of the palace complex and material connected with Ethiopia's modern political history.
It is one of Addis Ababa's more significant state-history sites and can be combined with nearby Meskel Square and Holy Trinity Cathedral.
