Bakau's bar scene is small and unhurried. The beach bars do cold Julbrew — the local lager — and stay open as long as there are people sitting in them. The expat-facing places have been around long enough to have regulars and a lived-in feel. This is not a nightlife destination in any serious sense, but it is a very comfortable place to have a drink at sunset.
