The Senegambia hotel strip, a short taxi ride south of central Bakau, has the highest concentration of tourist-facing restaurants on the Gambian coast. The range covers grilled fish, pizza, Indian, and generic international menus. Quality varies but the better spots do good fresh fish, and the beach-adjacent settings make up for a lot. Prices are higher than anywhere else in the country but modest by European standards.
This is convenient if you are based in Bakau and want a wider choice in the evening, though it is not where you will find the most distinctive Gambian food.
