Vipingo lies between Kilifi and Mombasa, and the beach here is one of the longest unbroken stretches of white sand on the Kenyan coast. A reef about a kilometre offshore creates a wide, calm lagoon ideal for swimming and snorkelling at high tide.
The northern end of the beach is undeveloped and almost always empty — a good place to walk for an hour without seeing anyone. The southern end has a handful of beach villas and a private golf course.
