The headquarters church of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) is the largest and most architecturally striking church in Jos. The original mission was founded in the early 20th century by the Sudan United Mission, and the building has been expanded several times. The current sanctuary is a vast modern auditorium that holds thousands; on Sunday mornings the congregation overflows into the surrounding streets.
The building is on Murtala Mohammed Way in the centre of the city and is a landmark for navigation as much as for worship. Visitors are welcome at services, though the language used is usually Hausa or English depending on the service time. The site has sadly been a target during periods of inter-communal tension in Jos, and there is usually some security presence; observe local guidance.
