The small Sea Museum sits near the southern end of the island in a former colonial building. Its collection covers the marine life of the Senegalese coast — shells, corals, preserved fish, and a couple of small skeletons — alongside displays on the traditional Lebou fishing culture of the Cap Vert peninsula.
It is modest, sometimes dusty, and rarely busy. Worth the small entrance fee for the building and for the corner it occupies among the island's other museums, particularly if you have already seen the more famous Maison des Esclaves and Musée Historique.
