The Hôtel 2 Février is the tallest building in Togo at 102 metres, and a stubborn piece of Eyadéma-era modernism that has dominated the Lomé skyline since 1980. After a long period of state-run decline it was sold to Radisson, refurbished and reopened as a Radisson Blu in 2016, and is now the most upmarket address in the city.
Even if you are not staying, the panoramic 17th-floor restaurant and rooftop bar are worth visiting for the best views in the city — out over the long beach, the lagoon, the port, the dense streets of Adawlato. The 2 Février sits on Place de l'Indépendance, so it makes a useful sundowner after a morning at the National Museum and the Independence Monument. Smart casual dress is expected after 7pm.
