Mucheni is a small group of secluded campsites west of Nyamepi, set apart from the busier main camp area. The appeal is simple: more space, fewer neighbours, and the same unfenced Mana Pools atmosphere close to the Zambezi floodplain. For experienced campers, that is exactly the point.
Facilities are limited, and you need to be properly self-sufficient. Food must be secured from baboons and hyenas, camp discipline matters, and walking around after dark is foolish. Book well in advance in the dry season; the best riverfront sites in Mana are never a secret for long.
