Bangladesh's largest safari park, about 50 kilometres north of Cox's Bazar near Chakaria. The park covers around 900 hectares of mixed forest and has a resident population of Bengal tigers, Asian elephants, lions, bears, and deer. It is a government-run facility, which means it is affordable and fairly well maintained by Bangladeshi standards.
The wildlife viewing is better than you might expect for a South Asian government park: tigers are visible in their enclosures, and the elephant section includes free-ranging animals in a forested area. Jeep rides and elephant rides are available. The park draws a lot of domestic visitors on weekends; weekday visits are calmer and better for actually seeing animals. Getting there from Cox's Bazar by bus or CNG takes around 90 minutes — most guesthouses can arrange transport.
