The best genuine Bhutanese crafts are sold at the Government Handicraft Emporium (fixed prices, reliable quality), the Jungshi Paper Factory (traditional Dzo-sho paper products), and the Royal Textile Academy shop. The weekend market is the best place for local food products — dried chillies, cheese, and fermented grain. Avoid the tourist stalls selling mass-produced Buddhas and thangkas imported from Nepal unless you specifically don't mind the origin.
