Quanzhou has two rail connections: a high-speed station (Quanzhou North, on the main Fuzhou–Shenzhen line) giving fast services to Xiamen (30 minutes), Fuzhou (1 hour), and Shenzhen (3.5 hours); and the older Quanzhou Station closer to the city centre with slower services. The old town is most easily reached from Quanzhou Station by taxi. Jinjiang Airport south of the city serves domestic destinations across China. The bus station near the old town connects to surrounding counties including Dehua and Anxi, neither of which has rail service.
