Anxi Tieguanyin oolong is the most worthwhile purchase in Quanzhou — buy it from established specialist tea shops in the city or, better, make the trip to Anxi County itself. The old town shops on Zhongshan Road sell traditional goods including puppet costumes and accessories from the Fujian puppet theatre tradition. Dehua white porcelain is available at shops near the Kaiyuan Temple and in the night market, though the best selection is at the factories in Dehua County itself.
